Cabot's Floor Polish is the easiest way to restore, enhance, and protect timber flooring. It prolongs the life of timber coatings and is designed specifically for coated timber, parquetry, and cork floors.
Read more: www.cabots.com.au/project/how-to-maintain-the-shine-of-your-timber-floors/
To maintain the shine of your timber floors, you'll need:
● Cabot's Floor Polish
● Cabot's Floor Clean
● A mop and bucket
● Lambswool applicator and tray
● And your safety gear
Before you start, it’s important to know that Cabot’s Floor Polish should only be applied to a dry and well cured surface. That means any new coatings should be at least 4 weeks old.
Ensure that the surface is thoroughly cleaned using Cabot's Floor Clean - the easy-to-use all purpose cleaner that's fast acting on grease and grime.
www.cabots.com.au/product/cabots-floor-clean/
www.cabots.co.nz/product/cabots-floor-clean/
Start by adding approximately 50mls of Floor Clean concentrate to 4 litres of water. For extra dirty floors, increase the amount of concentrate to 100ml to 4 litres of water.
Apply to the floor with a mop to loosen grime and dirt ensuring not to flood the floor with the cleaning solution.
Once the floors are clean and dried, it's time to apply your Cabot’s Floor Polish. It's important to remember, not to shake the bottle before use.
www.cabots.com.au/product/cabots-floor-polish/
www.cabots.co.nz/product/cabots-floor-polish/
Using a sponge mop or lambswool applicator, apply the product undiluted being careful not to introduce bubbles or allowing any pools of liquid to form.
Once your surface is fully coated, allow 1 hour to dry. Repeat the application if a higher gloss level is desired.
And there you have it - revived timber coatings with a beautiful shine. With Cabot's Floor Polish, you can confidently restore, enhance, and protect your timber floors, giving them a new lease of life.

How do you do in between the wood boards?

  • @richardmckrell4899
    @richardmckrell4899 2 місяці тому

The UV protection is provided through a film residue of plastic and plastic pigments. First he says it's not an oil product, then he calls it an oil product. Deck oil manufactures use 'oil' to mislead people into thinking that 'oils' are penetrating into the wood pores for protection. Not the case. The only oil left behind are the oils used in the plastic film/pigments left behind which sit only on the surface. If you really want an oil finish that penetrates the wood, use a plant based finish like linseed oil stain. If you want a plastic film finish, use every other product on the market, they're all the same plastic film.

Zero oil is left on the deck, all of the solvent evaporates. The only thing left on the deck is a film of plastic and plastic pigments.

Thanks for the video, I do have a question, is it possible to change Cabot's Timbercolour Grey Charm to another that doesn't have a blue undertone, I painted some of the wood that was left over from my deck and now in sun light it's more blue than grey and I hate it, It looks like I should have gone with another grey that is more neutral but I did buy the 10L tin a while ago, so now I"m stuck on what to do to finish my deck, I'm a pensioner so I can't keep buying the 10L paint tins for a 8 meter by 4 meter deck.

I gave my kids a gallon of this to protect their deck for their 18th birthdays. I told them they should use deck cleaner first, then deck protection. Apparently I'm now going to be a grand dad despite them protecting their decks. I should have showed them this video so the deck protectant was more effective.
